A one-year grant in 2025 of $10,000 on rolling deadline. Decisions made ever other month starting in February.
In an effort to continue responding to the needs of our community, organizers, and activists SJF is so excited to launch our new grant cycle, the Emerging Justice Fund!
The Emerging Justice Fund will move unrestricted funds to resource grassroots organizing for communities that have been and continue to be targeted by Federal, State and Local policies. Aligned with SJF’s intention to continue to move resources to groups that are most under-represented in traditional grantmaking, the Emerging Justice Fund will resource organizations that are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color-led.
1-year grant of $10,000
There will be 5 cycles of Emerging Justice in 2025; moving a total of $500,000.
Funding decisions will be made every other month starting in February 2025 (and then in Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct)
Organizations with 501(c)3 or 501(c)4 status, American Indian/Native American/First Nation Tribal Government or Agency or those that are fiscally sponsored by those designations and carry out their work in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and/or Wyoming.
We will prioritize organizations in both the prescreening and final decision process that:
Have leadership (at least 51%) from Black, Indigenous, and people of color communities and/or Conduct most of their work/organizing in reservation communities and/or rural, small-town communities (as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau)
